I’m impatient. I tell myself to hold out and wait to find records in the store because honestly that’s when it feels best, stumbling on something you’ve been looking for and thinking you’d never find it.
Well, I couldn’t do that for Shirley Caesar’s LP, Stranger on the Road. I’m so caught up in this gospel soul obsession that when I stumbled on a $4 copy of this LP on eBay, I jumped on it.
The album is in transit now but I thought I would go ahead and post a track from the LP here in anticipation of its arrival.
I’m new to Shirley’s music but have fallen in love with what I’ve heard so far. I did find a copy of one of her LPs at the record store this weekend but it was a little beat up for the price. That store is having a sale starting Friday so I’ll probably swing by and pick up at a reduced price. Here’s hoping I find even more in the wild soon.
