  1. Great story. Thanks for sharing. It’s been decades since I’ve heard them, but you’re absolutely right that they need a big room to come alive.

  2. To me, HPM is beyond sound and quality, it is a love nostalgic story, even more, it is the window that exposes the history and those nice days

  3. Good πŸ‘ that you got rid of them seriously! They’re overrated/outdated speakers. Not good for clarity and performance. Just an outdated party rock speaker. Those old components (paper type drivers etc)need replacing too due to desintegration. A speaker that size/weight should have MORE power handling and full range capability low bass-high khz frequency response.

Take for instance my Definitive Technology BP10 floor speakers from the 1990s but still in production today. 300 watts power handling, 6 ohms, 89db sensitivity. 42 inches tall, 9 inches Wide, 11.5 Deep. bipolar loudspeaker with 2 6.5″ high quality drivers and 2 tweeters 25 hz – 28000 khz frequency response manufacturers states 20 hz–that’s Bs. I paid ar 300$ for the pair 6 yrs ago used excellent condition.
