My twin sons passed their drivers exams last week and today was the first day they drove to school and back without an adult in the car. Spoiler alert: They did great and made it safely to both school and home.
However, I’ve been distracted all day by the thought of them driving. It has been hard to focus and be productive at the office knowing, at some point, they will drive home from school and praying I don’t get a call about an accident or car trouble.
I know this anxiety will pass as I grow accustomed to them driving without us in the car but today was rougher than expected.
This is the collage that presented itself today and I admit, it perfectly describes my state of mind.
Here’s to tomorrow, when they will drive again.
