Keith Haring is a big inspiration in our home. We have several Haring items lying around, mostly books, but especially this letter he wrote to an inspiring artist years ago:

Last week I noticed that Turntable Lab had released a Keith Haring cork record mat in several colors. I immediately ordered three, two black and one green, for the turntables currently in our home.
My teenage sons are into art, fashion and design. I recently set up an Audio Technica ATLP-120 turntable for their stereo system. It was an upgrade from the starter turntable they were using. I ordered a green Haring inspired cork mat for their table.
I’m using the two black mats on my turntables, a JVC JL-F50 (pictured above) and a Pioneer PL-560.
If you’re curious as to why a cork mat is used on a turntable, Turntable Lab describes the benefits best:
Improves sound quality playback with cork’s dampening qualities (lessens vibrations), lessens static electricity, and improves speed stability (better grip/less slippage).
If you’re inspired by Keith Haring like we are and looking to improve the functionality of your turntable, this cork mat is the perfect item.
Next…I think it would be awesome to design an entire turntable in Haring’s art!
