I had a dream last night where I was being honored for my 20th anniversary at my current job. There was a party celebrating many others as well and I was supposed to give a speech, something I had written and prepared.
However, the party kept going and going and going and all of my friends and family had to leave before I could receive my award and give my speech.
I woke up before giving the speech but remembered the feeling of what it was like watching everyone leave before I could have my spotlight moment, knowing that the recognition I was hoping for wasn’t going to happen.
There’s a lesson in there for me somewhere…
