Yesterday, before we had to pack up and head home, I was able to swing by my favorite record store when I’m visiting family, Vertical House Records.
I stumbled on this classic LP from 1969 by The Soul Stirrers called The Judgement and quickly picked it up. This version of the Soul Stirrers does not include Sam Cooke or Lou Rawls but instead, Rufus Crume, Arthur Crume, Jesse Farley, Willie Rogers and Martin Jacox.
The back of the LP jacket says it best, “Drop this on your turntable and open up your heart.” The above video is a great track from Side 2 but I also love track 3 on Side 1 called In The Water:
