Our usual family vacation during Spring Break is to head south, to the beach. This year we decided to go the opposite way and head to Cleveland to see, among other things, the Pelicans play the Cavs.
On the way to Cleveland we stopped in Cincinnati for a few days to visit family. One rainy day we visited Over The Rhine to do some shopping and I brought my Olympus Infinity Stylus point and shoot camera. Below are photos from around town including a different afternoon trip where my boys and I went to Northside to visit Shake It Records, one of my favorite record stores in Cincinnati.
We left Cleveland in the pouring rain and it continued to rain the entire first day we were in town. We spent that day visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and trying to stay dry while finding something to eat. I wasn’t able to shoot any photos that day but on Friday the sky cleared up and even though it was cold, we got outside and I brought my camera.
We started the day visiting the World’s Largest Rubber Stamp then headed to the Cleveland Museum of Art where we saw a lot of great artwork including Warhol’s Marilyn x 100.
We left the art museum and ate lunch at The Jolly Scholar which is located on the campus of Case Western Reserve University which is within walking distance of the art museum. I mention this because The Jolly Scholar had excellent veggie wings that were very delicious and highly recommended to any vegetarian friends.
We did a little more shopping that afternoon then headed to the Cavs game where Lebron James broke Michael Jordan’s record for the most consecutive double-digit scoring games. The Pelicans played great and it was a close game throughout. I enjoyed getting to see the Cavs play against Anthony Davis, Nikola Mirotic and Rajon Rondo.
Below are photos of Cleveland during our visit. We had a great time and look forward to visiting again but maybe next time in warmer months to see the Indians instead.
