I found this 45 without any artist info on the label and assumed what the content would be just by the song titles Yo-Yo and Tapping That Thing. I just couldn’t pass up bringing it home to hear if I was right. . Turns out to be recorded by “Boliver Shagnasty”, the alias for Red Skelton singing songs with the type of certain innuendo one would expect. With lyrics like, “Baby let me play with your yo-yo and I’ll let you play with mine”, it’s pretty racy for 1958.
This 25 cent investment reminded me that D. Boon and Mike Watt dug CCR and they inspired them to pick up instruments and form the Minutemen. . But hey if you’d rather jam econo to Have You Ever Seen The Rain instead...well you’re in luck cause that’s the A side. . Also if you wanna go peak 90s search YouTube for the Spin Doctors cover of Have You Ever Seen The Rain 😒
